About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated qualified Dispensing Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of how to communicate well with other staff and importantly our patients to offer them the most appropriate spectacle frames and lenses to suit their individual visual needs.

The ideal candidate will be part of a tight knit team and work well with all those involved and be a vital team member in ensuring the smooth running of the dispensing process.

As part of the dispensing team you will be involved in choosing the spectacles we sell, have choice on lenses dispensed and visit trade shows etc.

We also have equipment for the measurements of personalised lenses, which can incorporate AI to provide a completely unique lens for the wearer.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their needs and preferences.
• Perform measurements for spectacles ensuring accurate fittings.
• Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage.
• Maintain an organised inventory of optical products and supplies.
• Conduct repairs and adjustments on eyewear as necessary.
• Collaborate with optometrists to ensure seamless patient care.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology.

Requirements

• Qualified Dispensing Optician registered with the GOC
• Strong communication and people skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills are essential.
• Thirst for knowledge and desire to want to offer patients the best.
