We are looking for a dynamic and commercially sharp Group Operations Manager to lead the performance, standards, and day-to-day operations across our 8+ optical practices in the Greater Edinburgh area.

The practices are all located within Edinburgh city. You will ensure every practice delivers excellent patient care, strong commercial results, and consistently high standards of leadership, service, and compliance.

This is a hands-on, multi-site leadership role with real impact.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the operational performance across all practices using data, regular site visits, and strong leadership to drive measurable improvements.
  • Coach and develop Practice Leadership Teams, balancing support with challenge to build confident, accountable leaders.
  • Optimise day-to-day operations – diaries, patient flow, staffing, efficiency, and resource planning.
  • Drive commercial performance through KPIs (sales, conversion, ADV, capacity) and support delivery of revenue & EBITDA targets.
  • Implement consistent standards and SOPs while preserving each practice’s unique strengths.
  • Lead key projects and changes from start to finish.
  • Ensure full compliance, health & safety, and excellent property standards across the group.
  • Work closely with Practice Partners and Head Office teams to deliver strategic priorities.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong operational leadership experience, ideally in optics, healthcare, or multi-site retail.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and challenge teams with honest, constructive conversations.
  • Commercially aware with a good grasp of optical KPIs and business drivers.
  • Data-driven, organised, and decisive – able to manage multiple sites effectively.
  • Dispensing Optician qualification is advantageous but not essential.
